Mr Kirt Patel treated me with kindness and got me the best deal he could on my life insurance. I am forever grateful because I don’t know a lot on this subject. He took his time and explained things and did not pressure me into buying anything. I believe that is one of the things I liked about him. I do not like being pressured. Thank you again Mr Patel.

For anyone that is considering getting life insurance, Kirt Patel is definitely the guy you want to do business with. I really just didn't want to think about dying. However, death is inevitable. I am on a very limited income and wasn't even sure I could afford enough coverage to get myself buried. I didn't want my family members having to deal with that when I passed. Kirt found a policy that I can afford and that will cover my burial costs. And made me smile and even laugh while doing it! I highly recommend giving Kirt Patel a call.

Health problems do not necessarily mean you have to go without life insurance.

Serious health conditions, medications, past diagnoses, or a previous decline can make traditional life insurance harder to qualify for. That does not necessarily mean you are out of options.

Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance is designed for eligible applicants who want permanent life insurance without answering health questions. For the Corebridge Guaranteed Issue Whole Life option currently available through Generis, applicants ages 50–80 cannot be declined for health reasons.

Guaranteed Issue is not automatically the best option just because you can qualify for it. Some people with health conditions can still qualify for simplified-issue or other day-one coverage. I’ll help compare what is realistically available before recommending one path.

What Is Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance?

Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance is permanent life insurance designed for people who want coverage without a medical exam or health questions. Unlike traditionally underwritten coverage, acceptance is not based on your health history when you meet the product’s eligibility requirements.

For the Corebridge Guaranteed Issue Whole Life product currently available through Generis, eligible applicants are ages 50–80 and coverage amounts range from $5,000 to $25,000.

Guaranteed Acceptance for Eligible Ages

Applicants ages 50–80 cannot be turned down because of health conditions under the Corebridge GIWL eligibility rules.

No Medical Exam or Health Questions

No blood work, physical exam, or health questionnaire is required for acceptance.

Permanent Whole Life Coverage

The policy is designed to remain in force for life as long as required premiums are paid and the policy remains in good standing.

Guaranteed Level Premiums

Premiums are level and guaranteed not to increase during the life of the policy.

Guaranteed Issue may make sense if...

You have serious or multiple health conditions.

You have been declined for life insurance before.

You want coverage without answering health questions.

You are between ages 50 and 80 and want a smaller permanent policy.

You mainly want money available for funeral costs, final bills, or other family needs.

You are unsure what type of life insurance you can still qualify for.

You may have better options than Guaranteed Issue. A health condition does not always mean you need guaranteed acceptance coverage. If day-one simplified-issue coverage may be available, that should be compared before making a decision.

How Much Guaranteed Issue Coverage Can You Get?

The Corebridge Guaranteed Issue Whole Life product available through Generis offers $5,000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000, or $25,000 of coverage. The total amount of AGL Guaranteed Issue Whole Life Insurance on one person cannot exceed $25,000 in aggregate.

$5,000$10,000$15,000$20,000$25,000

Can I get $50,000 or $100,000 of Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance?

Guaranteed Issue policies commonly have lower coverage limits than traditionally underwritten policies. If you need significantly more than $25,000, the better question may be whether you can qualify for another type of life insurance. I can help review those alternatives. You can also learn more about coverage amounts and costs.

Does Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance Have a Waiting Period?

The Corebridge Guaranteed Issue Whole Life policy uses a limited or graded death benefit during the first two policy years for non-accidental death. This is important to understand before buying the policy.

Policy Years 1–2 — Non-Accidental Death

The death benefit is 110% of premiums paid, subject to policy terms.

Policy Years 1–2 — Accidental Death

Corebridge’s current consumer material states that accidental death receives the full face amount, subject to the policy contract and claim requirements.

After the First Two Policy Years

The full applicable face amount is available for covered death according to the policy contract.

Suicide

During the applicable suicide exclusion period, the benefit is limited to a refund of premiums, subject to policy terms.

Can I get Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance with no waiting period?

The Corebridge GIWL product described on this page has a two-year graded period for non-accidental death. If immediate full coverage is important to you, I can first check whether you may qualify for simplified-issue or another life insurance policy with day-one coverage. Read the educational guide to waiting periods and graded benefits.

Does Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance Include Living Benefits?

Yes. Corebridge Guaranteed Issue Whole Life includes living benefits for qualifying chronic illness and terminal illness at no additional cost. These are specific benefits with policy definitions and should not be described as a broad critical-illness package.

Chronic Illness

If the insured meets the policy’s qualifying chronic-illness definition, the benefit returns premiums paid, subject to rider terms and limits. Corebridge describes qualification as including inability to perform at least 2 of the 6 Activities of Daily Living or a qualifying severe cognitive impairment such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. The six ADLs are bathing, continence, dressing, eating, toileting, and transferring.

Terminal Illness

If a physician certifies a qualifying terminal illness or physical condition reasonably expected to result in death within 24 months, the rider can provide 50% of the applicable death benefit at the time of acceleration, subject to policy terms.

Accelerated benefit payments can reduce remaining policy benefits and may have tax or public-benefit consequences. Product provisions and availability can vary by state. Refer to the policy and rider for complete terms.

Bottom line: If you can qualify for simplified-issue coverage, it may provide stronger day-one benefits, more coverage, or better value. That is why I compare what you may qualify for before recommending Guaranteed Issue.

Is Guaranteed Issue the Same as Final Expense Insurance?

Not exactly. Final Expense Insurance describes what the coverage is often intended to help pay for — funeral expenses, burial costs, final medical bills, debts, and other end-of-life needs. Guaranteed Issue describes how a person qualifies for the policy — without health questions determining acceptance.

A Guaranteed Issue Whole Life policy is often used for Final Expense needs, but not every Final Expense policy is Guaranteed Issue.

Is Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance Whole Life Insurance?

Yes. The Corebridge product discussed here is Guaranteed Issue Whole Life insurance. It provides permanent coverage and level premiums, but its qualification rules, smaller face amounts, and two-year graded death-benefit structure distinguish it from many other Whole Life Insurance policies.

Can You Get Life Insurance After Being Declined?

A previous decline does not mean every carrier or every type of policy will decline you. Insurance companies evaluate health conditions differently, and different products use different underwriting approaches.

If day-one simplified-issue coverage is not available, Guaranteed Issue may provide another path to permanent life insurance.
